The caves are cool, especially if you are a cave aficionado. Having just visited Carlsbad Caverns with its massive decorations, Wind Cave takes a more nuanced view. That said, this is a great park because it sits in the middle of the most beautiful hills of South Dakota. We camped with the bison, elk, and all other kinds of wildlife. The campground in the park is FCFS which is great. Unlike Carlsbad, where all the good stuff is underground, Wind Cave is awesome under and above ground. One or two days is enough time to see the caves, but we wished we had more time to just hang out with the bison in the hills at the campground.
