Albuquerque sits in the high desert, so its climate is a lot cooler than the more famous ‘winter havens’ in the low desert, like Phoenix. We stay there because there Kirtland AFB has a good Fam Camp that has always had availability. The Nuclear Museum is cold-war fascination at its best. The downtown has a fun science center where all the big-brains from Los Alamos volunteer. On the other side of the city is a tram into the mountains for a commanding view. In between, there are neighborhoods that good use some help. It is a mixed bag.
