Memphis has a lot to offer a tourist. We especially enjoyed the Civil Rights Museum co-located at the location of the assassination of MLK. There was a lot there that somehow got left out of my history book in high school: powerful and moving. The music district is fun. The waterfront district is a great place to bike. Speaking of biking, the bike-foot bridge over the Mississippi river is spectacular. We stayed in West Memphis in a campground right on the banks of the mighty river, and biked in to Memphis. West Memphis is in Arkansas and no place you need to visit. I could have watched the traffic up and down the river all week. Don’t forget to get BBQ.
